About

Founded in 2024 by dancers across London’s Bachata scene, Good Vibes Bachata was born from frustration and hope.

Frustration that inappropriate behaviour kept getting ignored. Hope that with the right tools, we can make Bachata in London safer.

We’re a grassroots, volunteer-led initiative, run entirely by dancers. Not promoters. Not institutions. Just people who care about the scene.

Because Bachata should be joyful, expressive, and inclusive.
But never unsafe.

Good Vibes Bachata Goals:

Make Bachata in London safer.

Protect our community. Raise the standards.

This is Good Vibes Bachata.

I believe that "Respect and care should be the pillars of a healthy community where we all feel safe, the good vibes initiative is building that strong pilar and we should all support it"

Respect Each Other

Unfair, disrespectful, or hurtful behavior is not okay. This includes using hurtful language, bullying, harassment, or making people feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Respect Personal Space

Don’t be too close unless your partner is very clearly comfortable with it, and respect personal boundaries.

Respect Spatial Awareness

Pay attention to your surroundings, so that you don’t injure your partner or other dancers.

Respect your Partner’s Safety

Don’t do moves that injure yourself or your partner, or that you are not able to do safely.

Respect the Right to Say No

Everyone has the right to say No—to a dance, to a move, to sharing contact details, an invite for drinks or anything else. No is a complete sentence. Respect their boundaries, accept their No without question, and don’t take it personally.

Right to Report when Someone isn’t Being Safe or Respectful

You have the right to report unsafe or hurtful behavior to organisers, teachers, or to Good Vibes Bachata if you don’t feel comfortable reporting directly to organisers.

If you break these rules, organisers in our London network can give you a warning, and might ban you from events for a fixed time.
