🔍 Our appeal process is designed to be clear, fair, and consistent. It provides a structured opportunity for everyone involved to be heard while safeguarding the values of our Code of Conduct.

In this series, we’ll share more on how the appeal process works when requested during a case, so you know exactly what happens & how we  ...prioritize fairness and safety.

⚖️ Step 1: Independent Reviewers

Each appeal request is reviewed by at least three independent reviewers who:

✔️ Have clear experience in the dance community.

✔️ Understand our Code of Conduct.

✔️ Bring relevant expertise, if applicable.

We also ensure appeal reviewers have no prior involvement with the case to maintain impartiality and fairness.

🔒 Step 2: Privacy First

To protect everyone’s privacy, all reports are anonymized. This means:

🚫 No names, dates, or locations are shared.

🎯 Reviewers focus only on the behaviors described in the reports and assess the evidence provided.

This ensures an unbiased process and decisions based on judgment, not ...personal identifiers.

💬 Step 3: A Chance to Be Heard The appeal process allows the reported dancer to share their perspective.

How it works:

📆 They have 1 week to submit their written statement.

🔒 The statement is anonymized for privacy.

✅ Reviewers evaluate it alongside other anonymized evidence to shape the    ...proposed action.

🛠️ Step 4: Structured and Fair Review

Here’s how our review process works:

1️⃣ Three reviewers independently assess anonymized reports, the Code of Conduct, and severity scores.

2️⃣ Reviews are conducted separately to ensure impartiality.

3️⃣ Reviewers assign scores and suggest a proposed action based on evidence.

This ensures every appeal is handled ...with care and integrity.

✔️ Step 5: Evaluating the Outcome

With the input from appeal reviewers, the Good Vibes team evaluates:

🔍 The severity scores provided.

🔍 The suggested proposed actions.

🔍 Alignment with the original review. The team then:

➡️ Confirms the original proposed action.

➡️ Adjusts it based on the appeal review.

This decision/proposed action* is then shared within our network.

Note: This decision/proposed action is a precautionary step, not a legal judgment, and reflects our commitment to a safe and welcoming environment for all dancers in the community.

✔️ Step 6: Confidentiality Matters

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the appeal process:

🔒 Reviewers’ identities remain anonymous to avoid external pressures.

🤝 All information is kept confidential, with the proposed action shared only within our trusted network. This ensures that sensitive details are handled respectfully and responsibly ...throughout the process.
